The TLC-E provides a consistent format to assess emerging metalinguistic abilities and linguistic strategy acquisition. Emphasis is placed on assessing a student’s ability to perceive, interpret and respond to the contextual and situational demands of conversation.
Raw scores can be converted to standard scores, percentile ranks and an overall age equivalent score.
This sensitive measure provides the clinician with information about the student’s language strategies, and assists in the development of remediation plans and write short and long-term Individual Education Plan objectives.
Use the quick Screening Composite (based on only 2 subtests) to determine the need for further testing.
TLC-Expanded is an excellent tool to use after measuring basic language skills with the CELF-4 Australian.
