The Learning Blueprint | Where Learning Science Meets Classroom Impact

Audience

The Learning Blueprint is designed for all educators—regardless of grade level, subject, and context. Because it’s grounded in the Science of Learning (which explains how and why learning works) the strategies apply universally.

Whether you’re teaching kindergarteners, high schoolers, college students, you’ll find The Learning Blueprint to be directly relevant to your practice.

Module One Overview

In Module One, we begin by answering the question, “Why should we even care about the Science of Learning?”, before exploring the fascinating truth behind how the brain works to make sense of reality.

From there, we examine eleven key principles of learning, and consider how scientific research can—and cannot—be meaningfully translated to the classroom.

Module One is delivered over five sessions:
• Session 1 | The Science of Learning
• Session 2 | Learning Principles (Part 1)
• Session 3 | From Theory to Practice
• Session 4 | Learning Principles (Part 2)
• Session 5 | Learning Principles (Part 3)

Module Assessment: During Module One, you’ll transform learning into action with Micro-Projects. Rather than testing content knowledge, Micro-Projects provide a low-stakes opportunity to test, assess, document and share pedagogical strategies relevant to your practice.

From Theory to Practice | Evaluate how scientific research can—and cannot—be meaningfully translated to the classroom.
Micro-Projects | Transform learning into action by designing and delivering your own classroom-based micro-experiments.
