Qualification Level
In Module Two, we move beyond learning principles and focus more deeply on the learning process itself. What is surface learning? What is deep learning? What is required to transfer knowledge and skills between domains? How do assessment and feedback align with these different stages of learning? By understanding The Learning Trajectory, we can gain greater agency over our approach and adapt more effectively to changing classroom contexts.
The Learning Blueprint | Where Learning Science Meets Classroom Impact
Audience
The Learning Blueprint is designed for all educators—regardless of grade level, subject, and context. Because it’s grounded in the Science of Learning (which explains how and why learning works) the strategies apply universally.
Whether you’re teaching kindergarteners, high schoolers, college students, you’ll find The Learning Blueprint to be directly relevant to your practice.
Module Two Overview
In Module Two, we move beyond learning principles and focus more deeply on the learning process itself. What is surface learning? What is deep learning? What is required to transfer knowledge and skills between domains? How do assessment and feedback align with these different stages of learning?
By understanding The Learning Trajectory, we can gain greater agency over our approach and adapt more effectively to changing classroom contexts.
Module Two is delivered over five sessions:
• Session 1 | Skills, Talent and IQ
• Session 2 | The Transfer Dilemma
• Session 3 | Surface vs. Deep Learning
• Session 4 | Assessment at Every Level
• Session 5 | Feedback for Learning
Module Assessment: During Module Two, you’ll transform your learning into action with Micro-Projects. Rather than testing content knowledge, Micro-Projects provide a low-stakes opportunity to test, assess, document and share pedagogical strategies relevant to your practice.

Learning Outcomes
After completing Module Two, you'll be able to:
• The Learning Trajectory | Explain the full learning progression—from surface to deep to transfer—and align your teaching strategies with student readiness at each stage.
• Learning Transfer | Design lessons that address the three transfer hurdles—knowledge, context, and adaptation—so students can better apply skills in real-world contexts.
• Formative vs. Summative Assessment | Differentiate between formative and summative assessment, and use formative assessment effectively to guide learning.
• Effective Feedback | Apply evidence-based feedback strategies at the task, process, and self-regulation levels to maximize student growth.
• Facts vs. Skills | Identify when students lack foundational knowledge versus when they need skill development, and adapt your instruction accordingly.
Duration
Module Two module is broken into five ~75-minute sessions that combine evidence-based learning with practical application.
The total time commitment for Module Two is ~7.5 hours, and can be completed at your own pace.
