The Learning Blueprint | Where Learning Science Meets Classroom Impact
Audience
The Learning Blueprint is designed for all educators—regardless of grade level, subject, and context. Because it’s grounded in the Science of Learning (which explains how and why learning works) the strategies apply universally.
Whether you’re teaching kindergarteners, high schoolers, college students, you’ll find The Learning Blueprint to be directly relevant to your practice.
Module Three Overview
In Module Three, we examine the core cognitive processes that underpin learning, including memory and attention, before evaluating Cognitive Load Theory.
From there, we explore metacognition—focusing on how students can take greater ownership of their learning—and conclude with an evidence-based look at creativity.
Module Three is delivered over five sessions:
• Session 1 | Principles of Memory
• Session 2 | Principles of Attention
• Session 3 | Cognitive Load Theory + Homework
• Session 4 | Metacognition
• Session 5 | The Truth About Creativity
Module Assessment: During Module Three, you’ll transform your learning into action with Micro-Projects. Rather than testing content knowledge, Micro-Projects provide a low-stakes opportunity to test, assess, document and share pedagogical strategies relevant to your practice.

Learning Outcomes
After completing Module Three, you’ll be able to:
• Memory and Retention | Apply evidence-based strategies such as chunking, retrieval practice, and contextual learning to improve student memory and recall.
• Attention and Focus | Recognize how memory and attention systems interact, and use practical techniques to direct student focus and enhance learning outcomes.
• Cognitive Load Theory | Understand and apply Cognitive Load Theory to strengthen learning through effective curriculum sequencing and instructional design.
• Metacognition | Embed reflective practices that help students plan, monitor, and evaluate their own learning—boosting agency, strategy use, and knowledge transfer.
• Creativity | Recognize creativity as a domain-specific problem-solving process, and design projects that build knowledge while allowing space for iteration and revision.
Duration
Module Three module is broken into five ~75-minute sessions that combine evidence-based learning with practical application.
The total time commitment for Module Three is ~7.5 hours, and can be completed at your own pace.
