Instruction/treatment program for the PDMS-3. Contains units organised developmentally by skill area. After a child&#39;s motor skills have been assessed and the examiner has completed all sections of the Profile/Summary Form, the examiner selects units from the Motor Activities Program (MAP) to use to facilitate the child&#39;s development in specific skill areas.

			<p>This workshop is designed for Occupational Therapists and allied health professionals who want to build a foundational understanding of fine motor assessment. It is ideal for clinicians working with clients in paediatrics, rehabilitation, and disability settings, as well as those new to fine motor evaluation.</p>

			<h3>Course Description</h3>

			<p>Fine motor skills are essential to everyday function&mdash;from feeding and dressing to handwriting and tool use. This workshop introduces therapists to the core principles of fine motor assessment, offering practical guidance on observation, task analysis, and identifying barriers that limit participation.</p>

			<p>Focusing on the biomechanical aspects of fine motor performance, the session demonstrates how assessment findings can be applied throughout the OT process to inform functional, client-centred goals. Participants will also be directed to evidence-based models and specialised training opportunities for further learning.</p>

			<p><strong>Please note:</strong> This workshop does not provide specialised training in fine motor assessment or intervention. It serves as an introduction to key considerations and includes references to additional courses and resources for clinicians wishing to extend their skills.</p>

			<p>Hannah Spencer is an experienced Occupational Therapist with over 10 years of practice, underpinned by a strong foundation in Psychology. Her diverse clinical background spans neurology, rehabilitation, orthopaedics, surgery, workplace injury and paediatrics.</p>

			<p>Within the NDIS sector, Hannah has held roles ranging from senior management to clinical supervision, bringing both strategic insight and frontline expertise. She has also contributed to university teaching and is deeply passionate about clinical education, reflective practice and supporting therapists to discover and grow into their areas of interest.</p>

			<p>The PDMS 3 has several enhancements from the previous edition:</p>

				<li>The subtests of the PDMS-3 were renamed to reflect a better understanding of the skills required by the items.</li>
				<li>The addition of the supplemental Physical Fitness subtest reflects the current literature&rsquo;s interest in overweight, obesity, and fitness testing of preschool children.</li>
				<li>Examiner Record Booklets now contain complete administration and scoring instructions, allowing administration of the test without using the Examiner&rsquo;s Manual.</li>
				<li>The kit now includes a Scoring Transparency containing images of a protractor and ruler to aid examiners in scoring.</li>
				<li>The revised Illustrated Guide to Item Administration includes many replaced and updated illustrations.</li>
				<li>The Motor Activities Program was revised to be more user friendly. It contains units organised developmentally by skill area to facilitate the child&#39;s development in areas assessed as requiring intervention.</li>
				<li>The manipulative kit includes most of the manipulatives needed for testing to better ensure the standardised administration of items.</li>
				<li>Updated Peabody Motor Development Chart</li>
				<li>Norms are based on a sample of 1,452 children who were tested from Spring of 2016 through Spring of 2021.</li>
				<li>Standardised scores and corresponding narratives are obtained via the PDMS-3 Online Scoring and Report System.</li>
