Course Description

This comprehensive self-paced online course enhances clinicians’ understanding and confident use of the WAIS-5. It focuses on practical administration, scoring accuracy, and effective interpretation in the local context. The course applies international best practice while addressing common challenges, local competency standards, and clinical nuances not fully covered in the manual.

  • Describe key changes in test structure from WAIS-IV to WAIS-5, including the rationale for new subtests and revised index scores
  • Explain the purpose and core attributes of each subtest (core, ancillary, and expanded)
  • Differentiate between primary, ancillary, and expanded index scores, and apply their clinical utility
  • Map WAIS-5 administration and interpretation to relevant Australian Psychology Board competencies
